Refund & Cancellation Policy
This policy explains when and how Le Roux Digital, Table View, Cape Town, refunds payments for our services, including purchases made online through our website scanner at scan.lerouxdigital.co.za. It is written with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA) in mind. We do not charge VAT. Last updated 10 July 2026.
Before work starts
If you cancel before we have started work on your order, you receive a full refund — no questions, no deductions.
Your 7-day cooling-off right
Because online purchases are electronic transactions, section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA) gives you the right to cancel within 7 days of payment without reason and without penalty. If you cancel within this window and we have not yet begun work, we refund you in full. If you asked us to start immediately and work has begun, the pro-rata terms below apply to the portion already performed.
After work starts
If you cancel after work has begun, we refund the unworked portion pro-rata. We will show you exactly what has been completed and how the refund was calculated — you only pay for work actually done.
Defective or unsatisfactory work
Under section 54 of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) you are entitled to services performed with reasonable skill and care. If any deliverable is defective or does not match what was agreed, tell us within 30 days of delivery and we will, at your choice, correct the work at no charge or refund the affected portion.
Deposits
Deposits are treated exactly like any other payment under this policy: fully refundable before work starts, pro-rata after, and never forfeited as a penalty.
Monthly plans & retainers
Monthly services can be cancelled on 30 days’ written notice (or the notice period stated in your agreement). You pay only up to the end of the notice period; months of service already delivered are not refundable, and anything paid beyond the notice period is refunded.
What we cannot refund
The only amounts we cannot return are third-party costs already committed on your behalf, which we will itemise for you. These include: advertising spend already paid to Google or Meta; domain registrations; hosting fees; and software licences or subscriptions purchased specifically for your project.
How to request a refund
Email hello@lerouxdigital.co.za with your order or invoice reference. We acknowledge every request within one working day. Approved refunds are processed within 7–10 working days through Payfast, our payment processor, back to your original payment method.
Some services rely on third-party platforms (such as Google, Meta or WhatsApp), which have their own terms and fees and are outside our control. We are not responsible for changes those platforms make, but we will always work to adapt and keep your campaigns running smoothly.
